The Burlingame Mothers’ Club offers several ways to deliver your message to an audience of more than 1400 mothers living in the following cities: Burlingame (39%), San Mateo (33%), Hillsborough (10%), Millbrae (5%), Belmont (2%), Foster City (2%), Other (9%). All members are either expecting their first child or have at least one child between 0-6 years old. The club only accepts advertising from businesses focused directly on families with children aged 0-6.

Newsletter Page Ads
The BMC Newsletter is published in black and white and delivered 10 times per year with double issues in December/January and July/August. The newsletter is scheduled to arrive the first week of the month. Advertisement space may be purchased in lengths between one to six consecutive issues, but not longer. Due to high demand from advertisers, there may be a short wait period before we can accommodate your ad placement.
To reach this audience, the following advertising space is available. Ads may be reserved for up to six consecutive months with the exception of full page ads which can only be reserved for two months. We do not offer a discount for ads in multiple newsletters.

Newsletter Classified Ads
100 Word count text-only classified ads are available in the printed newsletter. Ads must be submitted by the 25th of the month (6 weeks prior to month you want it to run – i.e. on January 25th to go into the March newsletter). The classifieds run in paragraph form with bold title line (i.e. no special formatting). Submit classified text as you would like it to appear and instructions for when you would like to run the ad to run to firstname.lastname@example.org. Classifieds must be re-submitted for each issue.
Email-Bulletin Classified Ads
100 Word count text-only classified ads are available in the BMC E-Bulletins that go out around the 1st and 15th of every month to approximately 1,400 members. Ads must be submitted by the 10th and 25th of the month. The classifieds run in paragraph form with bold title line (i.e. no special formatting). Submit classified text as you would like it to appear and instructions for when you would like to run the ad to run to email@example.com. Classifieds must be re-submitted for each E-Bulletin.
How do I reserve ad space?
We accept advertisers on a first come (and paid), first served basis until we have reached our limit of ads for that month. To reserve space, please complete the following form:
After receiving your request, the advertising manager will relay whether space is available, and then you may submit payment via PayPal. Placement is not confirmed until the advertising manager has received payment. Once payment and creative have been received, the advertising manager will confirm placement. Space often fills up quickly, and advertisers are encouraged to book well in advance. If payment is not received in a timely manner, the advertising manager may transfer your spot to another advertiser. If booking multiple issues, a single payment is required upfront. A hard copy of the newsletter will be mailed to the address provided.
Once approved, please use paypal to pay for your ad. Remember, your ad will only run if we have received payment first. Below you can choose the ad type and it will take you directly to Paypal to checkout.
How should the ad be formatted?
We require electronic files via email. Please note that ads are placed as is and need to conform to the specifications outlined above. We are unable to make any edits to ads we receive.
Resolution and Printing
The newsletter is printed in black & white. Your artwork should be created at 300 ppi (pixels per inch) or 300 dpi (dots per inch). If your artwork is at a lower resolution than this, the print quality may be affected. All ad creative must be print-ready.
Accepted File Formats
The BMC newsletter supports a variety of file formats for ad creative. All files must be at high resolution (300 dpi) for printing. We only accept the following file formats:
- Adobe Acrobat PDF (*.pdf) (recommended)
- EPS Image (*.eps) (recommended)
- TIF Image (*.tif) (recommended)
- JPEG Image (*.jpg,*.jpeg) (recommended)
- PICT Image (*.pic)
- Adobe Illustrator Artwork (*.ai)
- Adobe Photoshop Image (*.psd)
We do not accept Microsoft Word documents as acceptable ad creative formats. When saving PDF files, all fonts and images must be embedded in the files. For JPG, please save your files at the highest quality settings (10-12). If using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, please use the “create outlines” feature to outline the fonts, otherwise you must include all fonts. We only operate on a Mac platform, and can only accept Mac fonts at this time.

BMC Member Benefit
One benefit offered to BMC members is free classified ads in the monthly newsletter and bi-monthly email bulletins. Each member may have 3 free classifieds per year (September to September) in BOTH the newsletter and the email E-Bulletins (i.e. 3 in each one for a total of 6). Subsequent classifieds are $35 each. The classifieds run in paragraph form with bold title line (i.e. no special formatting) and are limited to 100 words. Newsletter classified ad submissions must be made by the 25th of the month (6 weeks prior to month you want it to run – i.e. on January 25th to go into the March newsletter). E-Bulletin ad deadlines are 5 days prior to distribution- the 25th for the distribution on the 1st of the next month and the 10th for distribution on the 15th of the month. Ad topic/content must be items wanted, for sale, or services offered and affiliated (i.e. you are an employee or owner of the subject business) with the member and must include the BMC member name and contact info. Members may not place ads for other businesses, household help, childcare or preschools. Please contact email@example.com to submit an ad.
